Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlethwaite of the Saw Doctors will perform for one night only at the Irish American Heritage Center this April. Only 300 tickets will be sold for this intimate night of music. The Irish American Heritage Center is located at 4626 North Knox Avenue, Chicago.
Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlethwaite have played together for years as part of the legendary Irish band, the Saw Doctors. They are now on the road, just the two of them, to bring their years of songs and stories to a smaller and more intimate audience
Leo and Anthony will perform together for the whole show, telling stories from more than 20 years on the road, sharing favorite songs not only from the Saw Doctors, but original pieces and songs from writers they have been influenced by over the years.
Leo Moran is the songwriter, singer, guitarist, emcee, and storyteller with The Saw Doctors, who have been touring very successfully in the US for the past twenty years. The band has consistently sold out US venues such as Boston's House of Blues and New York's Irving Plaza.
Anthony Thistlethwaite plays mandolin, saxophone, harmonica and bass guitar with both The Waterboys and The Saw Doctors. He has also played and recorded with Bob Dylan, Donovan and Fairport Convention.
With The Saw Doctors on sabbatical, and with Anthony’s and Leo’s troubadour feet becoming itchy, the two friends have put together a show to bring around that will include different takes on well-known Saw Doctors’ songs, versions of lesser-known and less-played songs, a few from Anthony’s solo-albums and other songs written recently with Padraig Stevens.
Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlethwaite of the Saw Doctors in concert is Saturday, April 26 at 8pm and tickets are $20. There is a 4 ticket limit per order and the show is 21 and over.
